Es wird verwendet, um Handlungen zu beschreiben, die bereits abgeschlossen waren, bevor ein anderes Ereignis in der Vergangenheit stattfand. Die Past Perfect Bildung erfolgt immer nach dem gleichen Prinzip: Man kombiniert das Hilfsverb had mit dem Past Participle (der 3. Verbform) des Hauptverbs.
